The top bed looks particularly "windswept".
One of the first things that needs doing is getting the compost sorted and ready for use in the Spring. To get to the better compost below I needed to move the top layer first. I skimmed off the top twelve inches on the left hand side and moved it to the right hand side of the heap.
The compost could do with being left to decompose a bit more over the next month and it is way to wet to sieve so I transferred some of the top stuff that wasn't too bad into channels I dug in some of the beds.
Put some compost into the blueberry baths.
Looking around the plot the Goji berry and the Rhubarb and spring bulbs are doing extremely well.
Also, the fern by the cemetery wall.
We cleared some of the ground around the eating area. There wasn't any new chippings but just tidying it up made it look a lot better.
Spent quite a lot of time sorting and moving the compost ready for when we really need it in the Spring.
We transplanted the six raspberry plants that we bought from Aldi into the large fruit cage. They all seem to be doing extremely well.
Then, finally, just before we left, we moved a rose that we had grown from a cutting to the old artichoke bed. The rose had shot up and needed to be moved before it got even bigger. As it was we had to give it a severe prune.
